Install

You can install the latest Rye release on macOS or Linux using curl or wget.

  • Using curl:
curl -fsSL https://ryelang.org/install.sh | sh
  • Using wget:
wget -qO- https://ryelang.org/install.sh | sh

What the script does:

  • Detects your OS and CPU architecture
  • Downloads the latest release tarball from GitHub
  • Installs the rye binary to /usr/local/bin (may prompt for sudo)

After installation, run:

rye

to start the REPL.
